Our origin story...

Since the day we met, Dakota and I have gone back and forth sharing our dream of one day owning a bar together. We’d visit different spots, pointing out what we loved and what we’d do differently if the place were ours. For the longest time, it was just talk– until late February, when Dakota texted me saying, “I know what our bar is going to be called!” That message lit a spark for both of us.

I sent her my “dream bar” Pinterest board, and what started as a quick conversation about names quickly snowballed into a full brainstorming session—ideas for the vibe, the décor, even scouting commercial properties around Hopkinsville. Before we knew it, one of us said, “Dude, look into it—what would it take?” Eighteen minutes later, we decided we were actually going to do this.

Over the next few days, we got serious: researching locations, visiting the Chamber of Commerce, and making new connections. Not long after, it was time to pick a name for the bar—and our LLC. We wanted something that felt adventurous, genuine, and a little off the beaten path. About 22 minutes into tossing ideas around, Lucky You Bar entered the chat. We both loved it. It was unique, it stuck, and everything from the domain to the Instagram handle was available.

Nine days later, Lady Luck LLC was officially created… and Dakota was on her way to Kentucky.
